John Murray paints the beginning touches of what will be a mobile canvas full of outback art by notable Australian realist painters. A charitable giving foundation has evolved out of Utes In the Paddock, aptly named Headlights, the 1972 HQ Holden ute, to be painted by 16 Australian artists and offered to the highest bidder, is the first fundraiser for the charity and will support mental health services in the NSW central west. Well known and loved for his wit and wimsy and outback flavour, John Murray has added his first larrakin galah to the vehicle.
Work will continue on the Ute between 1st November - 13th December 2009 to coincide with an exhibition of the artists works at the Carrington Hotel Katoomba NSW (map).
Not merely a work of art the ute is registered through July 2010, has a clean interior with bucket seats, straight exterior, good tyres and great care has been taken to ensure it is in good operating condition.
Submit your tender at the exhibition or contact us for a tender form via email and you could take home a truley unique collector’s item. The entrant with the top tender offer will be notified on December 14th.
